the action takes place at the gemstone flume. Enjoy the
exciting atmosphere of discovery as you find colorful,
beautiful, and valuable gemstones! Our flumes are covered so
you can mine rain or shine! In the cooler months the flume
line is enclosed and heated for your added comfort.
Just place a scoop of rough material on the screen... then
rinse with clean water. The gem stones, when wet, will
reveal colors and crystal shapes!

There are lots of different gemstones to discover! We have
lots of local materials such as Crabtree emerald, Wiseman
and Brushy Creek aquamarine, as well as moonstones, garnet,
citrine, amethyst, ruby, sapphire and others brought fresh
to the mine daily!Sharing the experience of mining at the
flume mine is a lot of fun. You can compare finds and help
each other to identify what you've found.
Your stones will be inspected free of charge. You may also
have your stones cut and made
into jewelry by experienced gem cutters who are
graduates of the most prestigious gem cutting schools.
We are located right on Hwy 226 in Spruce Pine and we invite you to
