Tours
of the Brushy Creek Aquamarine Mine are conducted as weather
permits so please call our toll free number for more
information.
These trips are available by reservation only...and they are
popular, so PLEASE reserve as soon as possible. During peak
holiday periods you should call or email us as far in
advance as possible. The tours leave at 10 am and return
around 2 pm. Cost is $65 per adult and $30 for kids under
12. Transportation, equipment, and a guide are provided. The Brushy Creek Mine is Gem Mountain's primary source of
aquamarine.
Operations at the mine include the use of pneumatic tools to
break apart large pieces of rock in order to locate and mine
the aquamarine. Once the gemstone is free of the rock, it
can be collected, cleaned off, and sorted for size, shape,
and color.
| Beautiful hues of green and blue make aquamarine a popular
gemstone for jewelry and other decorative uses. |
